PROXY Performance Lab (PPL), led by artistic director Peter Musante, is a community-based project incubator dedicated to the research, development and execution of unique 1-to-1 performance experiences in which audiences perform their future selves.

 

All PROXY projects are developed in conversation with, and in service to, a chosen neighborhood's intersecting communities, past and present. and are therefore tailored to their environment.

Using a unique approach to performance which draws from the dialectical frameworks of clinical care training and mixed reality storytelling, PROXY projects are designed to build authentic relationships between city-dwellers and their surroundings by orchestrating encounters in which audiences perform their future selves.
